Is obtained by mixing : 2/3 of cider from the Fréquin Rouge, Binet Rouge, Bisquet and Douce Moën varieties. 1/3 of AOC Pays d'Auge Calvados aged for more than one year, with a content of between 68 % and 70 % vol.
Our Pommeau is aged in old oak barrels for 36 months (the legal minimum is 14 months). Bright and clean, Pommeau has a beautiful mahogany colour and a fruity aroma. It is persistent on the palate and reveals complex aromas of apples, plums, almonds and cherries.
Pommeau de Normandie can be enjoyed : As an aperitif at a temperature of between 8 and 10 °C, which is ideal for appreciating all its aromas. During a meal as an accompaniment to foie gras, melon or apple or chocolate dessert.
In the culinary arts, it can be used from starter to dessert, to prepare certain sauces or to enhance the flavour of poultry or fish (Coquilles St Jacques, guinea fowl with grapes, soufflés Calvados and Pommeau, etc.).
WARNING : Pommeau de Normandie can be kept at room temperature in the bottle for 2 to 3 years and 6 months after opening.
